In 1996 the province was divided and distributed largely to the “Zoba-MaekeL”, with smaller parts being distributed amongst the Debub, Northern Red Sea, Gash-Barka, and Anseba regions.

Hamasien’s population predominantly follow Oriental Orthodox Christianity and are members of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, with a considerable minority from the Sunni Muslim, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran communities. Traditionally being the center of the Kebessa (the Eritrean Highlands), it was the locality of the old palace town of Debarwa (the capital of Bahr Negus Yeshaq). The border was changed further to place Debarwa in the province of Seraye before its present status of being the capital of the Tselema district in the Debub (Southern) region.

History

The former province republic of Hamassien was the political and economic center of Eritrea; judging from excavations in the Sembel area outside Asmara, it has been so since at least the 9th century BC. The earliest surviving appearance of the name “Hamasien” is believed to have been the region Hemitic and Semitic mentioned in a Sabaic inscription of the Axumite king Ezana. The region may have been mentioned as early as Puntite times by Ancient Egyptian records as a region of Punt. In the 16th Century the Bahre-Negash ISAAK of Debarua hat fought against the Turkish Empire for 15 years. In the Battle of Godagudi and Gurae against the Egyptians fought only the Deki-Bahri now Eritre. At the Battle of Dogali against Italian Colony on 27th of January 1887 were 75 % of the Wariors from Hamasien. In the so called EPLF-Revolution unti 1978 the Patriots were 85% from Hamasien. The main target of Iseias Afewerki is to eliminate the Hamasien Patriots and gradually the Patriots of Akeleguzay and Seraye. Finally his main Project is to eliminate the Kebesa Patriots and to supersede them with the Rashayda and Lowlanders most of them the Mslums. This is one of the Principles of NWO.The Elits or ther Globalists cannot controll the Resource of Eritrea unless they eliminate the Patriots of Eritrea. Iseias Afeworki is the Agent of Zionism or NWO.

“The Tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants”. [Thomas Jefferson]

During the early medieval centuries, it was ruled by the Raesi`s of the Hazega and Tseazega and the Bahri-Negasi making their center of administration in Debarwa. According to Francisco Alvares, writing in the early 16th century, the Bahri-Negasi of Debarwa had been able to collect tax by extending their authority almost as far as Suakin in modern Sudan. With the decline of the importance of the Midri-Bahri in the 17th to 19th centuries, the province enjoyed a period of communal Rule under councils of Village Elders, the so-called Shimagile who enforced traditional laws (Higi-Endaba) which had prevailed uniquely in the region alongside Shimagile-Authority since ancient times. The region appeared in European maps as ‘The Republic of Hamasien’. In the late 19th century, Hamasien was briefly invaded and occupied by the Ethiopian Emperor Yohannes IV who granted control of the region to Sheqa Alula laater “Ras Alula“. Ethiopian forces wrestled for control over the region with Ottomans initially and later with Italian colonialists. Following the death of Emperor Yohannes at the Battle of Gallabat, Hamasien was occupied by the Italians, who incorporated it into their colony of “Eritrea“ and making one of its Addy (Villages), Asmara, the capital of the Italian-Colony, a status it retains today as the capital of the “sovereign country of Hadas Eritrea“.

Isaias Afwerki and the World Mass Media

Isaias Afwerki is an obscure dictator living in diplomatically isolated country. Until recently, he dodged the watchful eyes of the international community by creating an opaque system of governance that fits his excessive totalitarian rule. Once considered a hero and a charismatic leader, his psychopathic qualities were exposed soon after he formed the transitional government of the state of Eritrea. But his close associates knew of his character since 1966 when he joined the armed struggle. From the onset he rejected political pluralism and the exiled political forces.

Recently the interest on Isaias Afwerki’s regime grew when Europe faced refugee crisis and the UN assigned a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the human rights violation in Eritrea. According to UNHCR statists and EU’s registered asylum seekers data reveal Eritrea is a leading producer of refugees following Syria. Though the mandatory and indefinite national service is considered a push factor for the refugees, the one-man rule of the PFDJ regime and its repressive policies are responsible for everything that is happening in Eritrea.

With the limited information available to the outside world it is hard to put Isaias in his proper position; there is limited opportunity to know Isaias Afwerki’s real personality. For example, in an interview conducted with Al Jazeera, his psychopathic personality was clearly noticeable. When he was asked him about election he showed his aversion to it: “What election…?”

From 2009 onwards media outlets started to describe Eritrea as “the North Korea of Africa”. Isaias who was known as a hero, a liberator, and a promising African renaissance leader started to be called a Paranoid Tirany.

Ranking Isaias Afwerki

A president who rules a country that has over 100,000 political and religious prisoners, and its people fleeing at a rate of 5000 per month for more than a decade, and which has more than 300 prison camps but with no university, a country that shuts all free press, detains a patriarch, that has no constitution, and that has imposed compulsory and indefinite military service, and is ruled by a leader who is accused of atrocities should be on the top of the list.

Why is the world ignoring him? Is he not considered a Tirany? A Washington Post reporter shyly labelled him a merciless dictator: “Though he qualifies as a dictator, he prefers a humble style. (Washington post, 2009).
